In the second ring of Madrid, we deeply studied the traditions of mourning and the organization of Spanish families. We created a funeral parlor for contemplation and for saying goodbye to our beloved. The family stays at their side for several days and may sleep there as well. A system of eight rooms linked to various patios seeks balance between openness and intimacy in order to receive the bereaved family. The restaurant and the bar, both calm and bright, invite you to escape for a moment. The plot is large and the project is dense, with nature everywhere, allowing the family to refresh their minds on a bench during their stay at the funeral home. The monolith is realistic because of the local stone it is made with, which is traditionally implemented by other regional companies. The building, modest and sober, is set back on its green plot, disappearing from the street.
